The Red Veil Shirt
Ywndè
A different kind of portrait.
This one breaks from the rest of the line on purpose. The artwork on the back — a woman's eyes above a red veil, framed inside three arched, stained-glass-style windows with hummingbirds in flight — is a deliberate portrait of the Arab woman in general, rendered through the traditional dress of North Africa. It's meant to connect people's mental image of Arab Africa directly to the brand — not as a costume, but as a statement of identity.
The piece is built as a relaxed overshirt in soft off-white linen-cotton, so the artwork — dense, multicolor embroidered detail across the shoulder blades — has room to be the centerpiece. "Marrakesh" is stitched small on the sleeve, a quiet nod to where the imagery draws from.
